Why I Actually Love Doing Placenta Encapsulation

Okay, let me be honest: I really love encapsulating placentas. Like, for real.

I know that might sound weird if you’re not in the birth world. And even if you are, it can still sound a little out there. But hear me out—because this isn’t just some quirky birthy side gig. It’s actually something I find super grounding and really special to offer.

Here’s what I love about it—and why it means so much to me.

It feels sacred in a world that rushes through everything.

Birth is huge. Your body creates this whole organ to grow and nourish your baby, and then we’re just... supposed to throw it away?

Nah.

Placenta encapsulation feels like a way to pause and say, “Hey, this mattered. You mattered.”

I love being part of that. It’s quiet work. It’s behind-the-scenes. But it’s full of intention, and that kind of energy? It sticks.

I like doing things with my hands. This one just happens to be pretty magical.

There’s something deeply satisfying about the actual process—cleaning, steaming, slicing, drying, grinding. I set up my space, play my music, and just get into it.

It feels kind of like ceremony. Not in a woo-woo way (unless you’re into that—I am, sometimes), but in a grounded, loving, “this work matters” way. I treat each placenta with so much respect, because your body made it. And it deserves that care.

The postpartum season is raw, and this feels like something real I can give back.

New parenthood can be wild. Beautiful and exhausting and emotional and sweet—and sometimes kinda lonely.

When I drop off your capsules, it’s like I’m handing you a piece of support that came from you. Something that might help your body regulate, bring your hormones back into rhythm, support your milk, or just help you feel a little more like yourself.

And when you text me later like, “Is it weird that I feel... really good?” I just smile, because yeah. That’s what I want for you.

I love the energy of it.

Honestly? Every placenta feels different. Some are so soft and dreamy, others feel bold and fierce. And I love tuning into that. It’s like being a little witness to the power of your body, your birth, your baby.

And I know that might sound woo-y, but I don’t care. Birth is wild and wonderful, and the placenta is a part of that magic.

So if you’re wondering if encapsulation is right for you…

Here’s what I’ll say: You don’t have to be super crunchy or “that mom. "You just have to want to take care of yourself in a way that feels intentional. You just have to be open to the idea that your body already gave you something to help with postpartum—and I can help you use it.

I only take a few placenta clients a month, so if you’re curious or due soon, let’s talk.

I’ll walk you through everything. Cooler, timing, pickup, method—you don’t have to figure it out alone. Just reach out. I’d love to hold this part of your story with care.

Because this season matters. You matter. And I honestly love getting to show up for you like this.
