A Mama’s Thanksgiving Thoughts as We Head Into the Holiday

There’s something about Thanksgiving week approaching that fills me with this deep, warm excitement—almost like my whole-body leans into the shift. The air feels a little softer, the house feels cozier, and I catch myself daydreaming about slow mornings, warm meals, and having my people under one roof.

Motherhood has changed the way I experience this holiday completely. Before kids, Thanksgiving was about gathering, cooking, and making sure the rolls didn’t burn. Now? It’s about the tiny moments that make the whole week feel magical—the everyday sweetness that sits right in between the chaos.

I’m excited for all of it:

– Waking up early to the sound of little feet padding down the hallway– Letting my kiddo “help” in the kitchen even if it means flour literally everywhere– The way the house smells like real comfort—like butter melting, onions sizzling, pies cooling– Running around the house making everything “just right” even though everyone loves it as-is– Taking little breaks in the pantry for peace because motherhood is real– Stealing quiet moments to watch my family laugh, eat, and be together– Ending the day tired in the best possible way

This year, the gratitude hits a little deeper. Not because things are perfect, but because I’ve lived enough seasons now to know that nothing stays the same for long. Kids grow. Houses shift. Traditions evolve. We change, too. And these little snapshots of life—these holidays we get to experience through their eyes—feel like treasures we’ll carry forever.

I’m thankful for the mess, the noise, the sweetness, the healing, the growth, and the softness that sneaks in between all the hard moments. I’m thankful for the version of myself that motherhood has shaped—tired sometimes, stretched in every way, but so full of love it feels like it glows right out of my chest.

As Thanksgiving week approaches, I hope you feel that same warmth settling over your home. I hope you give yourself permission to slow down, to savor, to laugh, to rest. And I hope you feel deeply grateful for your own journey—exactly as it is, not polished or perfect, but beautifully lived-in.

Here’s to a week of warmth, good food, baby giggles, family chaos, and the kind of gratitude that lingers long after the dishes are done.

Wishing you the coziest, most nourishing Thanksgiving yet. 🧡

Victoria
